Furrow sofa of Natuzzi Italia in the ADI Design Index 2019


MILAN. Natuzzi Italia reaches a new goal thanks to ADI (Association for the Industrial Design) that chose the Furrow sofa to be published in the ADI Design Index 2019, an annual report on the best Italian design production and selected by the permanent design Observatory. To be featured in the index and then published in the yearbook the product must be pre-selected to compete in Compasso d’Oro, the oldest and most renowned design award wolrdwide.


The Furrow sofa is designed by Marcel Wanders whose works are touching, challenging, attractive, and they keep surprising because of the creativeness, courage and the meticolous research to raise the human spirit. Marcel Wanders interpreted the Natuzzi Italia DNA transforming Apulian shapes, textures and flavours into a complete collection: Agronomist, of which Furrow is the main item. “It was an honour and a responsability to bring the Apulian atmosphere and components into the design field. To succed to built a project where local culture and natural beauty live in harmony, it can give the sense of the country to the items” said Marcel Wanders.


Furrow has a natural, warm, welcoming, comfortable, contemporary, rustic and elegant design. A sofa enriched by unexpected details such as contrast stitching, buttons and raw cut edges along the sofa highlighting the rounding features of the item.


The ADI’s recognition arrives few weeks later Natuzzi Italia won the Red Dot Award 2019 achieved for the Ergo collection designed by Ross Lovegrove, witnessing the continuous work of the company in the design field and in the manufactoring excellence made in Italy.
